On a desktop, Mapvera can show a small tooltip when the mouse hovers over a landmark, so people can read a name without clicking. It's a desktop touch: phones have no hover, so these settings don't apply there.
The three settings
All three live on the map's Settings tab, under General:
Hover tooltip. On desktop, show a small name tooltip when the mouse is over a landmark. This is the main switch; leave it off and no tooltip appears.
Description in hover tooltip. Also include the landmark's description text in that tooltip, not just its name. Useful when a name alone isn't enough.
Smart tooltip position. Nudge the tooltip so it never spills off the edge of the map. Worth leaving on so tooltips near a border stay fully readable.
When to use it
Hover tooltips shine on busy maps where visitors want to skim names quickly with the mouse. If your landmarks already show on-map labels, or your map is mostly used on phones, you may not need them. Keep the tooltip to names for a light touch, or add descriptions when the extra context earns its place.
