The search box does more than filter. When it's empty it becomes a launch pad — recent places first, then everything on the map — so a visitor can pick up where they left off or browse from scratch.
Recent places
When a visitor taps into the search box, Mapvera shows a Recent searches block: the last few places they opened, most recent first. It's a one-tap way back to somewhere they've already been — no typing needed.
| Detail | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| How many | Up to the last five places opened. |
| What counts | Any place opened — from a search result, the list, a map pin or a shared link. |
| Hidden places | A place later set to Hide from directory quietly drops out of the recent list. |
Clearing the history
A small Clear recent link sits under the recent places. Tapping it wipes the history from that device; it stays empty until the visitor opens a place again. Recent places are remembered on the visitor's own device only — they're never shared between people or devices.
Browsing the full list
Below the recents (or on its own, if there are none yet) is the full list of every place on the map under an All heading. This is the same list a visitor sees before they've typed anything — a straightforward way to browse when they don't have a search term in mind.
Whether that list is alphabetical or in your own landmark order is set by Sort list A → Z under Settings → Directory (search / list panel).
Returning to the list
Closing a place card always returns to the top of the list, not to wherever the visitor had scrolled — so browsing never loses its place. Clearing the search box, or tapping View All under a set of results, does the same.
