Getting started

Create your first map

All guides

A Mapvera map is built from one or more level images with clickable locations placed on top. Here's the quickest path from a blank canvas to a published map.

Build your map

  1. Open your dashboard

Sign in and you'll land on your maps dashboard. Click New map (or Create your first map if this is your first one).

  2. Name it

Give the map a title. This also sets its web address — you can fine-tune that later in the map's settings.

  3. Add a level image

Open the Levels tab and upload your map image (SVG, JPG or PNG). Add more levels for multi-floor sites — the top of the list is the top of the on-map level switcher.

SVG gives the crispest zoom, but any image works.

  4. Place your locations

In the Advanced editor, add landmarks and drop them onto the map, then give each a name, description, category and images.

  5. Save & Publish

Click Save & Publish. Your map goes live at your address within moments.

Not ready to go public? Set the map to Draft before saving — see Publish, unpublish, and drafts.

What next?

Once the map exists, team members can keep its content current from the simple Standard editor, and you can brand it, embed it on your website, or track how it's used.
