Hide a landmark and tidy the list

All guides

Not every landmark belongs everywhere. You can drop a landmark's pin, take it out of the directory and search, or make smaller tweaks — hiding just its logo or just its name in one list. Each control does one specific thing, so you can reveal exactly as much as you want.

Hide from directory

  1. Open the landmark

In the Landmarks tab, expand the landmark.

  2. Tick 'Hide from directory'

This removes the landmark from the search list and the category chips. Its map pin still opens it — it just isn't listed.

Use this for spots that should be findable by tapping the map but shouldn't clutter the A–Z list — background areas, decorative points, or 'you are here' style markers.

Drop the pin instead

If you want the opposite — keep the landmark listed but remove its drawn pin — set its Marker to Hidden. The map area stays clickable and the landmark stays in the directory; only the pin graphic goes.

Fine-tune the list appearance

Four extra tick-boxes trim what shows in each list without hiding the landmark completely. They target the desktop side-panel and the mobile bottom-sheet separately:

TickEffect
Hide logo — desktop sidebarThe landmark's logo is hidden in the desktop side-panel list only
Hide logo — mobile sheetIts logo is hidden in the mobile bottom-sheet list only
Hide name — desktop sidebarIts name is hidden in the desktop side-panel list only
Hide name — mobile sheetIts name is hidden in the mobile bottom-sheet list only
These are handy when a logo already includes the name — hide the duplicate text on one device without affecting the other, or the popup card.
The card itself has its own 'Hide name / logo on the place card' toggles — those affect the popup only, not the lists above. See the guide on writing a landmark's card.
