A location's Thumbnail is its small picture: it sits next to the location in the directory list and shows as the round icon at the top of its card. It is separate from the big Main image and from the Logo.
Where the thumbnail shows
The Thumbnail appears in two places: beside the location's name in the directory list (both the desktop side panel and the mobile sheet), and as the round icon on the location's popup card. It gives each entry a recognisable face without needing the visitor to open it.
Add a thumbnail

Open the location
In the Landmarks tab, expand the location you want to give a thumbnail.

Find the Thumbnail field
It sits below the Main image and 360 photo fields, labelled Thumbnail.

Upload or paste a URL
Click Upload to pick a file, or paste an image URL into the field directly.
What makes a good thumbnail
Thumbnails are shown small and as a square, so pick an image that reads at that size: a logo mark, a simple icon, or a tightly cropped photo with one clear subject. Busy, wide or text heavy images turn to mush when shrunk. There is no need for a huge file, since it is only ever displayed small.
