Team roles and what each can do

Team admins All guides

Everyone on your team has one of two roles. The role decides whether a person can just edit maps, or also manage the team and its settings.

Team Member

A Team Member can edit your maps: add and update locations, write descriptions, add images, and publish changes. They cannot manage users, delete maps, or open Team Settings. This is the right role for most people who keep map content up to date.

Team Admin

A Team Admin can do everything a Team Member can, and also manage users, delete maps, and change Team Settings such as branding, the home page, sign-in methods and the two-factor requirement. Keep at least one Team Admin on every team, and only give the role to people you trust with those controls.

You may also see a Mapvera Admin role on the members list. That is Mapvera support staff, not part of your team's own headcount.

Set or change a role

  1. Open Manage Users

Sign in, click the menu (top-right), and choose Manage Users.

Only team admins can manage users.

  2. Use the role dropdown

Next to a person, switch the dropdown between Team Member and Team Admin. The change applies immediately.

To add people or send invites, see Invite team members. To take someone off the team, see Remove someone from your team.
