Sometimes you need to pull a map back from the public: a venue has closed, details have gone out of date, or you want to rework it in private. Switching it to Draft takes the public page offline without deleting anything.
Take it offline
-
Open the map
From your dashboard, open the map in the editor.
-
Switch to Draft
At the top of the editor, set the status toggle from Public to Draft.
-
Save & Publish
Click Save & Publish. The public address stops working within moments, so visitors can no longer reach it.
Put it back online
When you are ready to go live again, set the toggle back to Public and click Save & Publish. For a fuller explanation of each state, see Preview, live and published: what each means.
Offline versus deleted
Taking a map offline (Draft) is reversible and keeps everything. If you have actually removed a map and need it back, that is a different job, covered in Restore a map or roll back a version. It is also worth keeping a saved backup before big changes, see Back up and restore a map.
